FREE MUSIC ARCHIVE
The FMA is a great source for finding and sharing Creative Commons music. If you found my music there and would like to purchase a commercial license, head over to my shop. You don't need to re-download the tracks you'd like to use, just enter the track title in the checkout.
All of my music is registered under a Creative Commons Non-Commercial Attribution License (CC-BY-NC 4.0).
This means that as long as you are creating non-commercial media, you are free to:
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material
The only term for using my music under the CC-BY-NC license is that you must give proper attribution. Meaning — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
Here's an example of attribution:
Music by: Ryan Andersen. Ryan Andersen is an American composer and producer currently making music in Paris, France. Andersen has been writing music for the last 15 years and primarily creates soundtracks for media like podcasts, streaming video, film, television and advertising. Visit his page on the Free Music Archive to hear his collection of Creative Commons music for video.
Q: How do I know if my project is commercial?
A: Money is involved in the production, or raising/making money is the goal of the media production. i.e. You are being paid for your job or by a client to create media; you are creating media to promote a business, product, non-profit, or crowdfunding campaign to make/raise money.
Q: I don't see a license in the shop that fits my project, can I still get a license?
A: Yes, email me with your needs and project details and we can work it out, no problem!
Q: Can I get stems or WAV files of your tracks?
A: Yes, email me with the tracks you need and I can get you stems, WAVs or other formats with a short turnaround time.
